This is a 50s era dress featuring an abstract geometric print in tones of green, grey, black and white.  The dress is made with short length sleeves, V shaped neckline, a 12 button double breasted closure and has a matching belt that cinches the waist.  The collar of the neckline has a scalloped edge and the sleeves have turned cuffs.  The buttons are plastic and studded with a small rhinestone in the centre.  Although the dress is very large, stylistically it is meant to be loose fitting.  Please note that the dress was too large for my mannequin, so was pinned back for the photos - the silhouette of the dress will be somewhat different on your body.  The fabric is semi-transparent, rather sheer, so you would need to wear a slip with the dress.

Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a large to extra large size - please rely on the following measurements for fit (compare measurement with a similar garment that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):

Shoulders:  18 1/2” across

Sleeves:  10” long

Bust:  52” around, taken under the armpits - should be loose, blouson

Waist:  43” around, uncinched, cinches with the matching belt

Hips:  53”, meant to fall loosely

Overall length:  44”, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.  This has been well kept and stored over the years.

This is a good example of a 50s era day dress - hard to find in an extra large size!
